Wow, I have to say these screenshots are amazing looking! I would also love to see how this is looking in motion. And would also love to try it and see your code ;)

While I wouldn't play with this, I must say it's really well done, you've hit the canvas-paint look pretty perfectly.

I kind of prefer the heavy brushstroke look of the supermutant pic. Is it something that's easily adjustable on our end?

number6, ChaosDuck -thank you kindly.

Confidence-Man - Yeah there's a tickbox for the Painty-Depth-O-Field-y effect from that one. Trouble is I don't know how to do the fade over time thing so it looks good in stills but in motion it snaps back n forth instantly.
Everything is pretty customisable, has a lot of options and a small png to set the intensity of the "bristles".

Anyone know what is the maximum equivalent of "UIMin="? I've tried "UIMax=" but no luck.

Confidence-Man - thanks... it works now... I must have broken it some other way when I tried it before :/

Now just before I share this thing does anyone know a way to make a loop length user definable?
I tried
if(i == SampleNumUsr)
break;
and while it seems to work it still runs at the same speed as if you let it finish the loop naturally so there's no benefit.

I made this image for the brush:

Again, really awe inspiring stuff. Thanks for sharing it. I made a video of me tweaking with it which I'll post as soon as it's done processing.

Number6 - see you found the ink settings ;) I've still a couple of things to iron out on line widths there.

As to the brushes you could probably go lower res as it doesn't take that many samples anyhow.
The red channel is opacity with 0.5 grey being full, this means you can go over full which can give the paint a rougher more built up look. Blue and green shift the "bristles" in x and y to add some noise or to pinch or skew them, for these 0.5 grey means no shifting.
