Layered Light Field Reconstruction for Defocus Blur

Please tell me someone is able to used this information to write a new fancy DOF shader with limited performance drain:

Re: Layered Light Field Reconstruction for Defocus Blur

This has nothing to do with rasterisers, this is for pathtracing/raytracing , if you check the doc, they mostly talk about pbrt and stuff.
Path tracing does DOF as a side effect, it's just a new way to reconstruct the DOF with the samples acquired from the rays to make it look less noisy let's say.

It's just not for games, there are many other methods for DOF possible. Everyone has its own and it's mostly hacks anyway. No one is going to be stupid enough to do some gaussian blur to create Dof and stuff haha ;P
