Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

hi mindflux
i wanted to ask if you know if there is a possiblity for particles to get shadows from objects. for example snow in treeshadows/objects (your particle snow). or for example standing in markarth at late evening looking at the waterfalls particles that are very bright whereas the mountainside sourrounding it is very dark shadowed.
i guess skylighting maybe an issue by its own in that matter, but aside from that...
if this has been asked before i am sorry.
thanks

Volumetric particle shadows (with self-shadowing) would be really great, but I'm afraid it's not possible as far as I know.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Particles cannot cast shadows in the game, not sure about transparent objects, if possible at all to classify particles by properties of some more generic model. I can make this by changing shaders to more complex versions, but this will affect all particles, which isn't great visually and by performance.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

ok that is going beyond my limits in graphical knowledge...
but for example: a tree shadow that is casting a shadow (on ground, person etc), that shadow should darken particles in it (for example snowflakes). so snowflakes are bright outside and dark in the shadow.
does that need volumetric particles with selfshadowing or even particles that cast shadows? the particle wouldnt need to shadow other things, just another object darkening/shadowing particles in its shadow.

but if it would affect all particles, yes it would not work. because of too many "effects" that run in that category that dont want to receive shadows.

mindflux - For ages I had problems with transparent objects in Solitude:

Finally I decided to correct it :)

If you don't mind, in this archive you will find corrected meshes : Solitude meshes

Of course I did it in an "amateur way", but maybe it will be useful for someone :)

Thanks again for your great work :)
