Борис, отличная задумка! А можно ли добавить объемный туман или дымку в связке с лучами)) предчувствую невероятные индустриальные пейзажи 8-)
А то ГТАшный туман выглядит как-то плоско и нет возможности скрыть им дальность прорисовки (приходится ДоФом или блумом, как дп3)

было бы круто иметь вынесенный шейдер пре-пасса, как в том же скайриме или фаллоуте.

а если честно, то хочется ВСЕ и СРАЗУ... ну вы понимаете :mrgreen:

И хорошо ,будет, если 2 варианта выбора,

Boris, you should increase draw distance current reflections (now it's about 64 meters). Sun rays would be good in fog weather.

I have some ideas:
- refractions in water like this - http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3624/3372 ... z.jpg?zz=1
- better water transparency
- refractions in fire (you know what I mean?)
- volumetric street and car lights

I don't want to touch water, because GTA 4 do not use it's features as much as GTA San Andreas, so importance is much lower. Don't remember if fire have refractions, i'll compute performance cost for it. Volumetric lights for cars is good idea, but don't remember why ignored it when developed the mod, probably something was wrong in the game (or it was Deus Ex 3...).

sun rays/ volumetric sun rays are pointless for this game, You will never look at sun. Rest could be cool, the most interesting for me is the cloud shadows, it should add a lot of realism and immersion into the game, I'm actually surprised that only few games have such graphic feature. Is it hard to program or slow to render ?

I think if you can solve the thing about the peds being off, compared to the environment... even textures can't help.
Maybe a better lighting curve, so I vote detailed shadows I think.
Reflections are okay already, maybe not very far away but shadows are what is wrong in this game.
And sun rays are useless, you know that, on IV it won't fit.

It's not very hard, it depends. On some games you'll notice some mosaic/repetition, it's basically tracing rays around the clouds on the shadow map, it's not complicated to do but to apply it's different.

-Increase shadowmap render distance
-Global Illumination
-Tesselation
-Seperation of clouds and sun effects from ENB if possible
-Real-time reflections (use MLO mirror to help you)
