Stardew Valley - where do I begin?

So I'm trying to tone down Stardew Valley's garish color scheme. There's an existing 'reshade' injector that claims to do this, but it won't for whatever reason work for me (tried every suggestion I could find - there weren't many). So I figured I'd try good old ENB.

Where do I begin exactly? Is there a recommended 'starter' ENB version for any unlisted game under Windows 10? I'm unfortunately only familiar with ENB for Bethesda games. I seem to recall some people managed to get some ENB's working with other games, but I'm guessing I won't luck out that way when it comes to Stardew Valley.

Are there... steps to explore? At all? :?

If not, I'd still be interested to learn about other tools that might achieve the same, other than Reshade obviously, if anything else exists. The game is lovely, but the colors are painful to look at. Any hint or tip would be very appreciated!

Edit: ah, reshade kinda relies on ENB to begin with, doesn't it..

I give up.
