315 and 319 crash oldrim

When playing at 4K with 315 and 319 I cannot load any large areas. The game freezes in a load screen, and eventually "This program has stopped working" in fault module I can find d3d9.dll. I can load into smaller areas (for example the cell (and the whole prison area) in alternate start mod) with the loading screen freezing, eventually the game will (usually) load in. When exiting the area, the game will load normally for about 5 seconds till it freezes. The screen might go gray and windows will say "this program has stopped responding" and after about 30-60s the game will crash.

In 1080p larger areas sometimes load, but more often crash. Both 315 and 319 are broken this way in my config.

308 works fine in 1080p and 4K.

My skyrim mod-order has been unchanged for a long time, and on profiles where I've done changes Skyrim still did work.

EDIT: After restarting my PC, 315 works fine in 4K and in large areas. The ENB config I'm using is Snapdragon, specifically 4.33 (latest) which is also designed for 315.

Re: 315 and 319 crash oldrim

319 crashes skyrim every time I attempt to start. Happens just when the loading screen fades away, but before I can see anything in-game. 315 seems to have been fixed by restarting.

EDIT: Seems like my joy was short lived as ENB 315 crashed today. After playing for about 40-60mins, I got the same error with fault module as d3d9.dll. Exception code is 0xc0000005. I've disabled DEP (Data Execution Protection) for enbhost.exe and tesv.exe as some articles suggested that could help with the error code 0xc0000005.

Also mentioned was low ram, I have a GTX 1080 with 8gigs of memory (which isn't low), should I use 8192 in "VideoMemorySizeMb=" or 15968 as reported by DX9Memorytest? My skyrim config doesn't have enough high res mods to reach 8192MB never mind 15968MB.

Re: 315 and 319 crash oldrim

Crashes do not occur because of no enough video memory for the mod, but because of drivers and crapware (or something very very wrong in game config files). There are tools from Intel which do some memory protection and cause issues, updates of Windows can do too. It's hard to tell, but you are first one who report this problem and i don't remember any code changes which can be critical about crashes. Maybe you have some software which have registered profile for my mod (308 is old version) and it do not work with new cause don't know them. Search for culprits, terminate everything and if can't find, run the game, then without closing it show screenshot of entire list of processes running in task manager.

Re: 315 and 319 crash oldrim

Looks like I've been able to fix this by using a modified memory allocator method and revamping my whole modlist. That with Load Game CTD Fix and I can play skyrim normally again. Not sure why windows always reported d3d9.dll as the fault module as it seems skyrim itself was to blame.
