Far Cry 2, no changes take effect

I can see the overlay in game, but nothing looks different, and even if I try to customize things like the contrast, nothing changes. How do I fix this?

I don't know, mod is made for Steam version of the game, may be game was updated.

I used to use it no problem a couple year. And the last update for far cry 2 was way before that. I think I'm just doing something wrong.
