Re: Artifacting or "Shimmering" in Fallout New Vegas

No, no I meant no disrespect. I was just showing what each Anti-aliasing the ENB provides look like. The issue is my system doesn't like something about the ENB or something.

I can't isolate each individual dot as my screenshots are so grainy that everything is slightly pixelated. All I can do is show the symptoms and hopefully you or someone else could tell me what's going on, as you told me, my hypothesis makes no sense.

What I really want to know is if the Accumulative has a file that I overlooked which can allow me to tweak the values so that I can make it work with my system. I can learn how to fix this, but I don't know where to start.

Re: Artifacting or "Shimmering" in Fallout New Vegas

Oh god, im totally lost trying to understand what you mean. In very first animated image and in last you show that objects on the screen (including weapon) are shifted, reminds invalid temporal or accumulative antialiasing. But mine imlementation of accumulative antialiasing only shift in less than 1 pixel and i said it happens in each frame, so you cant see such moves. And why others dont have issues, i dont get it. Maybe its something about shaders 3_0? I have seen recently two people had bugs by using them (guess via parameter in game config ini file).
if the Accumulative has a file
No, it cant be tweaked, effect is simple and just pattern can differ, the one i choosed give best results.

Re: Artifacting or "Shimmering" in Fallout New Vegas

I don't have Shaders 3_0 enabled, but I found a guide that can allow me to force it. Were the people having problems with using them, or did forcing it fix the problem?

I've searched online and there were literally only two results for the keywords "temporal aliasing fallout new vegas". It's crazy how little information there is.

I'm trying to find out what Bethesda did to the depthbuffer to fix the issue, but there's very little information on that either.

Re: Artifacting or "Shimmering" in Fallout New Vegas

Shaders 3_0 must not be forced to make my mod work. Anyway, i have no idea what you doing and what you searching.

Re: Artifacting or "Shimmering" in Fallout New Vegas

WaitBusyRenderer=true - very bad thing which degrade performance, set it to false. Anything else simply can't cause any artifacts of shifting pixels (if you meant that).

Re: Artifacting or "Shimmering" in Fallout New Vegas

Thanks! I will disable that from now on.

Is there a guide in this forum of the best things to disable for the best performance?

(Guess I'm going to have to take a break from trying to fix the pixelation for now. Thanks for the help, regardless)

Re: Artifacting or "Shimmering" in Fallout New Vegas

Hi Seguld.

Is this '' flickering/shimmering '' effect are only in fallout or in others game ?
Did you have this shimmering without an enb ? Completely vanilla i mean.
If yes, is the shimerring was present the first time you played the game, when you had never injected an enb in the game ?

Re: Artifacting or "Shimmering" in Fallout New Vegas

I hadn't tried an ENB in any games prior to Fallout New Vegas, so I can't say if it's isolated. (Plus, I believe the ENB files for New Vegas are unique to that game and its features)

There was some aliasing in my game already. Unfortunately, the ENB increased it significantly. Where I could first see a straight line on a distant object in Vanilla, I instead saw large pixels that would change position as I moved around the scene when ENB was installed.
