[Fallout4] Weird/blackish shader/disappearing objects?

Hello there!

So since I got Fallout 4 at launch, I was experiencing very *very* slow texture loading: my character's apparels along some environment details always appeared in low resolution/blurry for a while. It was ugly.

Then I discovered ENBSeries v0.307 for Fallout 4, which actually solved the issue completely:
http://enbdev.com/mod_fallout4_v0307.htm

No more blurry textures. Me happee, game is beautiful. Thank you very much for that! <3

**HOWEVER**, since I applied that patch, I'm experiencing... Other weird issues:

Album >>>> http://imgur.com/a/bQiSF#nO862xS <<<<<<<

As you can see, this seems to affect random objects in the environment. Some of them "progressively dissolve" as I get further and reappear the same way if I get close again. It can be one or two items on the ground, a NPC, a props. Items with transparencies (glasses and signs in my picture) seems to be more consistent, though I'm not sure. It's completely random and always start all of a sudden in my playthrough.

Going back to the main menu and loading my save solve the issue temporarily.

Another issue (as pointed in the screenshot with the projectors under the bear) seems to implies some shading-related bug: certain items will appear black from afar and as I get closer I can see the polygon of the mesh distinctivly affected by the blackish-shader and it becomes normal once I'm right next to the affected object. Once again it's inconsistant.

A good way to describe it would be like if there was a really small "item fade + shader" bubble around my character, loading incorrectly shaders and meshes on specific objets randomly.

Anyone has a hint on what would solve this? I don't want to remove the ENB patch for obvious reason, but surely there is *something* I can do? Something in Fallout4Prefs.ini or ENB's settings?

Thank you!

Sorry, imgur not works at this moment. But any kind of bugs found i'm fixing, as don't see any n my rig - can't fix yours. I'll wait till image hosts will be running again, you can share savegame, screenshots of video options of the game and screenshots of the bug and without bug how it should look (try imagebam.com). And hardware specifications would be nice

Re: [Fallout4] Weird/blackish shader/disappearing objects?

Alright so:

Shader issue 1
Image
Certain items (i.e. lamp bottom of bear) appears black from afar.

Image
Getting closer make the polygons from the mesh obvious

Image
Once very close, nothing major is seen.

Transparency/Item loading
Image
Certain items with transparency (i.e. panel above) progressively appears as I get close to them

Image
A little bit closer

Image
Very close - No issue

Image
Image
Image
This also applies to certain objects like NPCs, ground textures with alphas, props (i.e. the barrel at the end of the hallway).

As for a savegame, I don't really know where to upload that nor why it is required, in a sense that my bug is not related to a specific part of the game. My game, as a whole, is affected by the shader/transparency issues and they always occur out of nowhere. I didn't find a consistent way to force it to happen. It's a graphical problem, not a content one and loading my savefile on your computer may result in a different outcome since you probably don't have the same options as me nor the same GPU card.

Re: [Fallout4] Weird/blackish shader/disappearing objects?

I don't see anything wrong. Maybe it's some other applications or drivers messing around. Sorry

Re: [Fallout4] Weird/blackish shader/disappearing objects?

//Reviving this thread (so sorry)

I'm experiencing this issue aswell also on random things....and its bothering me quite a bit :/ here are a few screenshots + videos...

-Photo of what the bug looks like: http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.c ... 10F1B70C8/

-Video 1 (diamond city): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-5-uXsx40M

-Video 2 (NPC model) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT90ES0RNC0

I also have a comparison of 2 things, the first picture show something how its supposed to look and the 2nd picture show that what i ALWAYS see in Diamond city:

1st: http://i.imgur.com/QgxcI0S.jpg

2nd: http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.c ... A87813791/

as you can see there is a diffirence with the support beams for those houses :/

But i wanted to ask if this "issue" was fixed in the update versions of ENBoost for fallout 4... I mean does this mod: (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/332/?) still work with ENBoost or is stuff like what that mod adds included in the updated versions of enboost like (v0.311)

Long story short:

I want to fix the low resolution textures, but I need ENBoost for that.....but at the same time I don't want the black textures to keep on appearing so my question is....
Does the updated version of ENBoost fix this? Or do i just have to deal with the low resolution textures/ find another way to get rid of them?

thanks you and sorry again for reviving the thread

Re: [Fallout4] Weird/blackish shader/disappearing objects?

ENBoost itself can't cause this bug, so it's game internal bug or in driver or too high setting for ENBoost (check enblocal.ini). I don't know about which update you talking about, i didn't it for long time, but it still should work properly. If you didn't try it so don't know if it will fix, then better do it.

Here come's yet another thread revive ( I hate to bother you with this issue yet again :/ )

So i've been fidling with this issue for quite some time now...but looking at what you wrote.
when you mention "a too high setting for ENBoost (check enblocal.ini)" What excactly do you mean

because i have a GTX 750 1Gb and 16 GB RAM so that should leave me with the possibility to use this...right?:
|
ForceVideoMemorySize=true
VideoMemorySizeMb=10000
|

I have also tried using an older driver (A driver from when Fallout 4 was released) and it still caused this to happen :( .

When i remove ENBoost the "issue dissapears" ,but then i'm stuck with the low-resolution textures bug thingy....
Do you have any other suggestions as to what i can try?

--------------------------------

On a side note: I salute you for the work you've been putting into making this...I'm sure it wasn't easy, and it's that that makes me feel like an a-hole to ask you about this problem me and the OP are having....You have my highest tier of respect sir!

Re: [Fallout4] Weird/blackish shader/disappearing objects?

You need to make experiments with setting of VideoMemorySizeMb. Problem is that 1 gb vram is very low, it's not used just for textures, there are many more data of the game, 3d models, render targets. Driver allow to use RAM to store textures at cost of performance, game with ENBoost active do not have any way to find this out and act like it's real video memory size (10000 mb). I suspect bug happens when physical video memory is too much full of data and there is no more space for residental objects in vram, so they fail to be created by driver. Or maybe it's just driver bug like that (but i think it's rather predefined behavior to keep stability). Try to set windowed mode and very low resolution for it, if it gives noticable improvement, then definetly what i described and only chance is to try very carefully tweak everything in game setting.
