TES Skyrim 0.277

The Elder Scrolls Skyrim (TES Skyrim)

Graphic mod ENBSeries / patch ENBoost 0.277

Removed EnableTransparencyAA, because not widely used and cost performance even when disabled. Removed EnableZPrepass, because performance improvement is minor, but many users have unknown bugs with it. Added parameters to profiler to visualise ambient occlusion, indirect lighting and reflections, this will help to find balance between quality and performance (press apply changes button).
Also changed a bit enbseries.ini, older version had some parameters set to incorrect values for debugging purposes.

Thanks again for all of your work! I wish I could send you my GTX 690 I don't need anymore. You'd probably be better off with money though :-)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.277

Just gone to 277 wrapper.. (only change)

By emerging from a cave to outside I get a CTD every time.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.277

@boris
just a crazy idea... because you brought up performance optimization, what about an alternative version of enbseries that is based upon the current code (all fixes and improvements), but has many! effects deleted. let's say to get near 0.13x performance as a wishful thinking. i don't know how much work it would be, if it is just deleting some code snippets and function calls.
... for example, i was trying to do a "streamer" setup with ultra performance and good visuals based on new and old binaries, but i gave up because it either is too old code, missing fixes etc... or the new binaries just have to much performance impact.
i guess it would be a lot of work to filter the right choices for effects that can be deleted, and also a lot of work everytime for adjusting code before releases.
you know best what makes sense in that manner, so i just wanted to bring up that idea to get it out of my head.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.277

I'm not able to track changes in two versions, even mode when defer disabled was not tested long time ago and ignored. Mostly performance wasted for defer and capturing various data, like non transparent objects, transparent, depth, transparent depth, normals, sky, etc, which can't be optimized, but still active even when effects not used (i can't insert conditions in each effect, very hard to not broke something in later changes, this is for last stage optimizations only).
Btw, i'm not doing optimization, almost nothing left to optimize, except volumetric rays from sun and clear up code in ambient occlusions where i trying to scale range of sampling based on distance. Only inventing another algorithms for ssao/ssil/reflection may increase quality vs performance balance with bigger cost of minimal performance impact. I'm just trying to prepare code for some other features.

seriously? how could that have been ignored? i guess you should try out again. i mean for a thing like defered disabled, i can imagine a firework of people that want to test it out at STEP forums for example. defered is also the reason why many people don't use ENB. i would also prefer a working ENB without it, BUT i don't know the disadvantages of "defer disabled" in detail, of course.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.277

Hey, i've heard a lot of opinions why most players don't use the mod, please stop that, i'm not interested in limitations just because someone do not like something.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.277

Defiantly something changed in v277..

Any save thats 'outside' crashes my game outright.

If I am in a cave it loads in.. *but* I try then to go outside and CTD.

I changed back to v262 and loads every save slot okay again.

What information can I give you to help isolate the issue ?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.277

Just to give some alternative feedback (just for comparison) I used 277 last night for a few hours without any issues. Based on the FPS counter by ENB my FPS went up as well. I haven't done extensive testing though I have gone into dungeons, towns, exteriors and the like during normal game play.
