Re: DX8 to DX9 convertor 0.036

ok i understand, thanks for the explanation, in any case i have the game, i can try to upload the entire folder on my dropbox, in the case you would like to try. And there's this solution that i don't know if can works with silent hill 3 ( and 4 if possible). Here the link https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9 but i don't know if it works or not!

I have my own convertor, don't you know? And as i said, bugs in game shaders, any convertors unable to fix them.

Re: DX8 to DX9 convertor 0.036

Out of curiosity, is there any potential performance gain to be had, by wrapping an older (less efficient) rendering API to a newer one? Or is it that due to the nature of wrapping draw calls, you're essentially doubling them, as program makes a D3D8 call which is then replaced with a D3D9 call?

Yes, but dx9 to dx11, not dx8 to dx9.

Re: DX8 to DX9 convertor 0.036

Hi !
I downloaded your “DX8 to DX9 Convertor v0.036” here:
http://enbdev.com/convertor_dx8_dx9_v0036.htm
Thanks!
This works well for “No One Lives Forever 2” games and “Contract J.A.C.K.
It's better (IMHO) than “dgVoodoo2” by Dege and “MODERNIZER2” by HeyThereCoffeee!
Is this the latest version or do you have better than this?
If you do not have the games “No One Lives Forever 2” and “Contract J.A.C.K.”, then you can download these magnet links.
These are 100% official US versions (I have original US CDs and I checked the files in ISO by hash).

“No One Lives Forever 2”

“Contract J.A.C.K.”

Re: DX8 to DX9 convertor 0.036

I played these games, nolf2 vr as well. There are no other versions of convertors, because i didn't play any more dx8 games which have bugs with my convertor.

Re: DX8 to DX9 convertor 0.036

I've always had a lot of bugs in the "Contract JACK" game:
- the image twitched a little,
- FPS ranged from 50 to 2000 (Windows 10),
- the mouse moved jerkily (Windows 10)
- sometimes graphics messed up and I constantly pressed the checkbox on the keyboard to restore the settings.
- When grenades flashed, the graphics deteriorated and I rebooted the game ...
***
Now I copied your archive “enbconvertor_dx8_dx9_v0036” into the game and went through 4 missions of the game Contract JACK ...
I don't see bugs! :D
FPS = 60 (stable), no jerking of the mouse, The controls in the game work perfectly!

Thanks! ... :D

... Now I will check Nolf2 + "enbconvertor_dx8_dx9_v0036" ... maybe there will be no "Client MFC application" error? ;)
Question:
in the Archive files enbconvertor.ini and d3d8.dll
Should I change the enbconvertor.ini file?
Also the question is what versions of these packages should be installed:
DirectX ver. ??
.NET Framework ver. ??
Microsoft Visual C ++ ver. ??

Re: DX8 to DX9 convertor 0.036

The only requirement is DirectX runtime standalone summer 2010.
