I use Bellyaches Animal and Creature Pack. Espacially the black wolf skin looks like plastic:
The Texture itself looks quite good, but in game all the details seem to get lost by the normalmap, or specular?
(reduced to 1024x1024 for this forum)
Is there a better texturemod for animals out there? Does it look like this for all of you too?

Re: Animals - Black Wolf Texture
Yeah I have this too. Both on vanilla and Bellyaches textures. Bears looks awful... And I'm not even going to start about cows.
Don't know but I think the plastic look may be because of the specular maps used in those textures. Like it's bathing in oil. If you find better texture mods please let me know!

Re: Animals - Black Wolf Texture
So I reworked the texture. I reduced the alpha-specular in wolf normalmap and used sharpening filter on diffuse and changed the transparency-alpha in diffuse, too.
Now it looks like this:
Without my current ENB-preset it looks even more tousled:

Wow nice work! Im looking at it on my phone but it looks good. Much more real than vanilla. Maybe I can test it?

There was very good texture work on the nexus done by someone for ENB it looked really breathtakingly good for no mesh hair he used also the gausian blur very well to make the hair smoother appearing
