ENB for Vampire Bloodlines - watermark persists

There are ENB's I found for VTM Bloodlines - 0.0.7.6 and 0.0.7.5 . Well the 0.0.7.5 works fine and so does 0.0.7.6, except that the huge red watermark on the left upper side of the screen does not go away.

Here's what I am talking about:

You have crapware or antivirus, because the thing you talking about is impossible.

Re: ENB for Vampire Bloodlines - watermark persists

LOL - no, it is not that. That symbol is a part of a customized ENB package that was created to work with version 0.0.7.5. With 0.0.7.5 this symbol appears in Main Menu screen and during load screens, but with 0.0.7.6 it appears AFTER the game is loaded and stays there the whole time...

I have answered your question, doesn't matter if you accept it or not, this is a fact that some shit ruined game process timer. Nobody reported similar issues and of course i didn't have this bug when developed the mod. Compaling about graphic artifacts because of incompatibility with drivers and game setting is one thing, but ripped off windows kernel functions is different story.

Re: ENB for Vampire Bloodlines - watermark persists

I bet $100000000000000000000 and my life that it isn't a Windows kernel or AV or spyware problem or driver problem. I know this for a fact. I have 0% problems with my PC and games at this point, including Bloodlines when I use older version of ENB 0.0.7.5. The custom ENB package came with version 0.0.7.5 and it works wonderfully. I just wanted to use newer 0.0.7.6 ENB. I do not have any AV in the background or spyware removal software, which I do run once per week and it never finds a single thing. I run AdwCleaner, Hitman Pro, RogueKiller, and Malware Bytes - Anti-Malware (with root scan). Every so often I also run "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth", "SFC /ScanNow", and full "Chkdsk" drive scan. I could re-install Windows 10 cleanly and this exact problem would happen because it has nothing to do with OS.

This exact same issue happens on 2 friend's PC's, (Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 machines), neither of which were built and optimized by me. One machine had earlier NVidia drivers and the other had AMD R390X with latest drivers. So unless this is a 1 in a 10000^100000 change, its a vanilla-customized ENB package incompatibility. I didn't say it was a problem with ENB itself. There are plenty of ways to make vanilla ENB .dll's not work with customized ENB packages based on different ENB dll's.

I really appreciate your work in regards to ENB and I don't want to sound rude
, but you talk as if you know everything, like you're God or something.

So, you actually using crapware.

Because my code worked fine all the years and i fucking don't care if it not works right now for any amount of people, you or your friends, because it use only simplest common functions from Windows API to avoid any incompatibility starting from win95 and ending win10. It still works for me winxp and tested on the buddy programmer win7 x64, logo dissapears.

May be you have some dll/exe mods installed, which hook timers or steam overlay enabled? Mod was developed for original game, not steam version of it (i don't know if steam changed something).

Re: ENB for Vampire Bloodlines - watermark persists

Ah... maybe that's it. I do have the Steam version and the latest Unofficial Patch installed. Just to be precise - this is the ENB preset (based on 0.0.7.5) I use - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/938 ... v0lved.rar and if simply replace the included d3d9.dll (0.0.7.5) with the the latest one (0.0.7.6), then I get that issue. I also tried the game without ReShade / SweetFX and the same issue still happens.

Anyway, its not a big issue - I am sure you know better than me and I don't want to piss you off any further  .

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: Just out of curiosity - which of the listed Anti-Spyware programs (AdwCleaner, RogueKiller, Hitman Pro, Malware Bytes Anti-Malware) do you consider Crap-Ware? I've worked for several PC Repair companies (big corporations and small private ones) and these programs have been used in practically all of them with great success without any issues. They are definitely better than today's AV's from Norton, TrendMicro, AVS, etc., most of which take up a lot of resources and slow down PC's while running in the background.

Re: ENB for Vampire Bloodlines - watermark persists

I consider everything as crapware, because any software must not affect proper work of another software, if this happens, then it's malicious applications, equal to viruses. Huge companies developing antiviruses many years and still unable (not all of them) to handle d3d wrapper, but you believe that much simpler tools will save you? Have you read license of any of them? Do they guarantee anything? No they don't, like almost all software these days.
