What Color Is This Dress....

Some people might already saw this pic, but I'm really curious at what you guys might think,
assuming ppl here are more sensitive to colors

It can't be white (instead of blue), because that would means blue lighting environment, which is actually not blue (see background) and blue light will cause gold or black to be darker, not with yellow look. Because amount of light is big enough (even reflection is visible on the blue canvas), dark color is not the gold, because it would be very reflectable in that case, much higher than blue material. Gold look happen because of average yellow lighting from the sun and canvas specific small "fur". Also it can be anisotropic material which gives different color under low angle or it's reflective color is not the same as diffuse.

Interesting. It does look like a simple white balance issue to me, nothing out of ordinary. Probably different K lights at the back and front?

Color balance issue would be visible on the sides, because background is very bright yellow (sun probably, but not 100% sure with this crappy quality).

Hmm not that you mentioned it that's actually true. The background looks like the dress could be on a store window, the foreground has been darker.
